Hole Description
A strong opening par four. A tee shot down the left side is the safe line, Right center of the fairway is the aggressive line off the tee. After finding the fairway, a small, well bunkered green awaits. Par on the opening hole sets the tone for a solid round. Bogeys are frequent but don’t ruin your round.

Hole Description
Our hardest hole on the course hits you early in your round. Plenty of trouble awaits you off the tee. Water hazards, fairway bunkers and out of bounds make finding the fairway a challenge. For this reason, don’t be afraid to choose a fairway or hybrid off the tee. A very severe green awaits you on your approach shot. Just because you have found the fairway and the green, does not ensure your par. Three putts often occur at the second hole.

Hole Description
Our shortest par four on the course and a chance at birdie or easy par. Don’t let this short, dog leg right fool you. Often a hybrid or fairway wood off the tee, laying up short of the fairway bunkers, leaves a middle to short iron to this large green. Two solid shots here will lead to a solid par on the third.

Hole Description
Our first par three on the course. A ridge bisects this large green, making it two green sections. Your miss off the tee, should be short. This will lead to an easy putt, chip or pitch. Greenside bunkers await you left and right and should be avoided. Don’t let our par threes fool you, they may look simple on the card, but have often ruined good rounds at TCC.

Hole Description
The first of our par fives. A great risk/reward hole that features a water hazard that is reachable from the tee. It comes into play the rest of the hole, along the left side of the fairway. Three quality shots will set up a reasonable chance at par. The green is very long and runs diagonally away from the player. Choose your approach club wisely. If you fail to hit the correct portion of the green, threaten yourself a possible three putt.

A tough par four with small water hazards looming on both sides of the fairway. Make sure your tee shot finds the fairway, otherwise, making par at the sixth is nearly impossible. A small green awaits you, again a miss short of this green allows for a reasonable chance at par.

Our second par five on the course is the most scenic. A solid tee shot leaves many players with a difficult but tempting downhill second shot. Choose your club and adjust your stance for the downhill lie. Two solid shots will put you into position to hit your third close and have a chance at a birdie. Once you have reached the seventh green, there is still plenty of work to be done. This severe green is very quick, and it is ideal to leave your approach shot short of the pin, to help navigate the green in two putts.

Our shortest par three on the course. A severe green awaits your tee shot, again missing short is better than long. Greenside bunkers await shots to the left or the right, ensuring a big number for such a short hole. Birdies occur often at this hole, but so can doubles. Hit the green and leave an uphill putt to secure your par.

This straight away par four features our last fairway bunker on the course. Finding the fairway sets up an approach to this large green, with greenside bunkers left and right. I find it is one of the toughest greens on the course to read. Par here is a nice way to begin your journey onto the back nine.

The second hardest hole on the course, begins the toughest stretch of holes at TCC. Miss your tee shot to the left, a miss to the right off the tee will make for a very long hole. The tee tempts you to favor the right center, but trust me, your tee shot must find left of center to allow you to navigate this long, challenging, dog leg left, par four.

A slight dog leg right par five, is a true three shot hole. This elevated green, surrounded by greenside bunkers, makes your approach shot critical to secure a par. Playing from the fairway after your second makes the third much easier. Missing this green makes for a difficult up and down.

On paper this hole looks simple. Don’t let the yardage fool you. This gentle dog left does require longer hitters to choose a three wood off the tee. The most difficult green on the course awaits the player. We have a saying at TCC, long is wrong. Nowhere on the course is it more evident than here. When the pin is in the back of the green, this hole plays much more difficult. Play to the center and two putt and head to the 13th hole.

This short, straight away par four features another very severe green. After finding the fairway, choose your club for your approach wisely. A well struct approach makes the 13th much easier. This is not the time for a siesta. A poor second can lead to a big number on this green.

Hole Description
This fantastic risk/reward par five, should provide plenty of opportunity to make par or even a birdie. Longer hitters may have an iron into this green and have an opportunity to make an eagle. A small water hazard looms short of the green and a cavernous bunker awaits on the right side of the green. A false front on the front third of the green makes your approach more difficult. Many large breaking putts on the 14th green make putting a challenge.

A short, narrow and straight away par four, featuring a large green with difficult putts to read. A wide, approach short of the green, make chipping much easier from the short grass. Miss the green short of the hole and that will leave you a chance to get the ball up and down for your par.

Our first par three on the back nine. This small green does not provide much room for error. Deep bunkers left and right await. A well struck shot will leave a reasonable birdie putt on this difficult green. Par here sets up a strong finish to close the back nine.

Hole Description
A spectacular dog leg left par four, sets up a beautiful finish along Trippe Creek and overlooking the Clubhouse. A tee shot, right of center, is a conservative line. Choosing to play left of center off the tee, improves the angle for the approach and a shorter shot to the green. A massive green awaits the player to test his/her putting skill. Par at the 17th is fulfilling and sets you up for success at the home hole.

Hole Description
Our home hole is a beauty. A closing par three, is occasionally, anticlimactic. But not at TCC. The beautiful scenery is distracting. Make sure you keep your wits about you as you play our most scenic and most difficult par three. It will test every aspect of your game, your aim, a solid approach and a deft short game. Closing your round at Talbot with three pars, usually flips your match. So, finish strong and always remember, “Long is Wrong” at TCC.
